The Correlative Relationship between Feminist Movements and Breeding Culture in Tunisia: A Socio-Demographic Study

This research examines the image of Tunisian women between continuity and transformation, while exploring the various dimensions of reformist thought that have contributed to the advancement of women’s status and the achievements attained since the promulgation of the Personal Status Code in 1956. It also highlights the contribution of the feminist movement to the establishment of the principle of gender parity, in addition to discussing the role of civil society institutions in the gradual development of women’s skills, the promotion of maternal and child health awareness, and the dissemination of family planning practices encouraged by the state immediately after independence to maintain a balance between population growth and available resources. Furthermore, the study investigates the correlational relationship between education, fertility rates, and reluctance toward marriage, as well as the impact of these factors on the demographic structure and the broader development of society.
