This study explores the importance of the “Tanger Med” Project, focusing on its significant role in transforming the Moroccan economy and local communities. Since its inception, this project has not only reshaped investment landscapes but also profoundly impacted the northern region of Morocco, particularly the rural areas between the Tangier Med Port and the city of Tanger, which have become hubs of industrial activity.

By delving into this topic, we aim to uncover the varied effects of large-scale development projects on people and their environments. We consider economic, social, and cultural dimensions at local, regional, and national levels, helping us to identify both the positive and negative outcomes of these investments. Understanding how local leaders and communities interact with these changes is crucial for grasping the full impact of such projects.

Our approach combines descriptive and analytical methods, allowing us to examine multiple facets of the issues at hand. We also incorporate a historical perspective to trace the industrial evolution of Tangier since the early 2000s. Methodologically, we utilized geographic research techniques, including bibliographic research, field observations, surveys, and interviews. We analyzed both quantitative and qualitative data, presenting our findings through various tools like charts and maps to better illustrate the dynamics at play
