The level of effectiveness of strategic choices, combined with time-saving methods, have become top priorities for educational systems. In light of the Self-Security Strategies for Learning Model (3SL Model), this research examines the metacognitive components and their importance in achieving cognitive security. The widening gap between practical and field education emphasizes the need for securing learners’ paths at the thinking and learning levels. This research provides enabling means to address various personality dimensions and improve learning outcomes. It concludes that the learner’s awareness of cognitive processes and their presence in the different stages of learning form the basis of methodological competencies. Metacognition refers to a conscious process that refines and secures thought paths, builds future-oriented knowledge, and efficiently updates existing knowledge to meet cognitive, social, and emotional needs in the relationship with oneself, others, and the world.
