The Impact of Historical Transformations on Educational Policies in Morocco: An Approach to Address Future Challenges

The article explores the development of Morocco’s education system from the colonial era to the postindependence period, examining the challenges faced by educational institutions, the reforms implemented, and recommendations for improvement. Education primarily served colonial objectives during colonial rule through a dual educational approach. After gaining independence, Morocco embarked on educational reforms rooted in principles of unification, Arabization, Moroccanization, and universal access, aiming to bolster national identity and adapt to contemporary advancements.

Despite these efforts, persistent challenges, such as disparities between urban and rural regions, have limited the effectiveness of these reforms. In response, significant initiatives like the National Charter for Education and Training and the Strategic Vision 2015-2030 were introduced in recent decades to address these issues comprehensively.
