Exploiting Soft Skills in an Oral Activity

This study highlights the importance of soft skills in education, focusing on how they can enhance communication abilities among Common Core learners in public schools. According to Caroline VÉNE, an expert in leadership and collective intelligence training, soft skills are behavioral abilities that enable individuals to adapt and thrive in different situations. These skills, whether innate or developed through activities like arts or sports, are crucial for personal and professional success.

The research examines how soft skills can be applied during oral classroom activities. Through observing 10 learners in a structured task, the study assessed their interactions, reactions, and communication within a collaborative setting. Findings revealed that soft skills significantly support oral expression, boosting learners’ confidence, fluency, and ability to adapt. These skills also influence their overall personality, shaping how they engage with others in dynamic environments.

By fostering soft skills, educators can create more engaging and impactful learning experiences, enabling students to express themselves confidently and prepare for real-world challenges.
