The Moroccan Educational Curriculum and the Media: The Question of Values

The study explores the relationship between the educational curriculum in Morocco and the media, specifically radio and television. It focuses on the shared values between them, aiming to cultivate human, educational, social, and universal values. The research addresses the dissemination of values in Moroccan media and how they align with those in the Moroccan educational curriculum. It examines how media can be used as a tool to help learners acquire values that are consistent with the educational curriculum.
The significance of this study lies in the educational philosophy of the Moroccan education system, which emphasizes collaboration with educational partners, particularly the media, as it is a widely used educational tool. To investigate the media’s leading role in promoting values that align with Moroccan educational curricula, we utilized analytical, descriptive, and comparative methods. Our goal is to illustrate the role of media in supporting education and gaining a deeper understanding of the relationship between values, curriculum, and media. This study seeks to prioritize values in creating educational media content, emphasizing the importance of an open educational vision that embraces media and the cultural and technological advancements brought about by globalization.
Ultimately, the study aims to operationalize open educational thinking in conjunction with the media. This requires the development of a strategic plan informed by Moroccan educational philosophy, operational mechanisms, and educational vision.
In pursuing these objectives, we aimed to answer the following questions: Can the educational curriculum alone effectively instill positive values in learners, or do we need an additional educational tool beyond the traditional curriculum? How can we harness the available media to develop a methodological vision for constructing an open, advanced curriculum that aligns with media in both objectives and procedures?
