Education in the Face of Digital Challenges: An Attempt to Understand the Dialectic of Education with the Digital Generation in Tunisian Society

This paper attempts to identify the challenges facing education across generations, particularly with the digital generation. This digital wave, a kind of digital cultural ideology, has left educational and socialization institutions perplexed in their efforts to find an education that suits these generations. A number of factors now shape the educational process; the more society develops technologically and digitally, the more complex and challenging the educational process becomes. Social media has become the dominant force shaping the lives of young people and directing their behavior. These generations, through their digital communication and virtual world, have found their lives almost devoid of meaning. Humanity is threatened by a radical shift in morals, values, and traditional concepts, potentially creating a society where humans and machines are integrated in an unprecedented way. The challenge we aim to address is examining alternative educational approaches available to educators and how they can develop methods that align with the social transformations of the globalized age, ensuring societal continuity and social peace, given that values are the foundation of social equilibrium. This descriptive study focuses on the sensitivity of educational issues, especially as we are now in a phase where there is no going back, but rather a need for caution and adaptation to the digital landscape and the digital generation. These generations, which have produced such new social and communicative phenomena, are more obligated than ever to quickly resolve the crisis of virtual communication, return to human interaction and normal life, intensify face-to-face meetings and human interaction, and hold fast to the principles of education by working to develop educational curricula, strengthen family support and recreational clubs, and protect future generations from the various dangers posed by continuous digital development
